Bernie is an artist based on Waiheke Island. Bernie is an imaginative, illustrative painter. Her colourful paintings and distinctive style emanate joy, freedom and adventure “I am a storyteller and my paintings tell a story about the journey of life. Bernie has had a long career in the media and design of all types, including interiors. Art and design are lifelong passions.

She has previously exhibited at Soul and Inspirit Galleries, in Hamilton. Her works are quirky and fun and explore a fantasy world where the subjects tend to float surreally above an imaginary landscape.  Bernies’ muse is often an intriguing woman with flying red hair who has frequented her paintings since she began painting and selling her work, early in 2000. Her current works have a fanciful steampunk influence while remaining with her favoured floating theming.

Her work is predominantly acrylic on canvas and occasionally multi media.
