My aim is to give a sensual experience as well as a visual one, so form and surface and shadow are an integral part of my works.  

With equal footing being given to both carving, sculpture and painting, my work often sits closely at the intersection between 2D and 3D.  

Both the leaf works and the shell works, are a celebration of that small unexpected surprise you get when walking in Nature and of the desire to take home that leaf or shell that stands out among the drab forest floor or on the monochromatic sand.

In my art practice I am attracted to and intrigued by Nature and work with the minutiae found there, by up-scaling this minutiae I am inviting the viewer to examine their relationship with the objects I choose to magnify and in them being 'life-size', t hey demand a conversation of equal standing with the viewer.
